DESCRIPTION
DP10,000™ is a dry, natural, organic, high viscosity cellulose gum derivative. DP10,000™ has versatile, fast-yielding properties which have proven useful for biopolymer trenching.
MIXING AND FEEDING
When a solution is required DP10,000™ is best wetted with fresh water using a venturi-type eductor. DP10,000™ is usually diluted to 0.1% to 2.0% by weight with water and allowed to hydrate for 0.5-1 hour before use. It hydrates more rapidly under a high shear mix condition. The viscosity of DP10,000™ solutions increase with concentration in an
exponential manner. Planning of mixing and feed systems should take into account the
viscosity characteristics. When dry applications are needed DP10,000™ can be relied upon to yield quickly, offering a reduced residence time over many other polymers.
BENCH TESTING
Good planning starts with bench scale testing. Bench tests of DP10,000™ can be used
to determine the optimum ranges of feed rates, dilution rates, addition locations and
sequences. When DP10,000™ is used in conjunction with other polymers, the order of
addition should be tested. In some systems the best results are achieved by separate,
sequential feeds.
SPOILAGE
DP10,000™ is a natural, organic polymer that is resistant to spoilage. Periodic cleaning of
mixing and storage tanks will reduce potential for spoilage.
PACKAGING
Packaged in 25-kg multi-wall kraft bags, 40 per pallet, stretch wrapped or bulk bags from 1,500-2,500–lb.
SAFETY
DP10,000™ is non-polluting and non-toxic. It is biodegradable, so disposal problems are reduced. Fugitive dust should be avoided due to potential explosion and sensitization hazards. Wet powder will become very slippery. Store in cool dry place. Refer to SDS for specific information.
