Rantec Guar Market Report
Guar prices continue to trade higher than they were at this time last year due to dry conditions and lower sowing acreage.
Guar planting is complete and is estimated at approximately 2.4 million hectares, compared with approximately 3 million hectares in 2025. Early crop estimates range from 7–8 million bags, with one bag weighing 100 kg.
Although the crop is smaller than in previous years, the lower yield is likely already factored into the current market. Today, guar splits are trading approximately $382 per metric ton higher than they were one year ago.
As previously reported, ocean carrier rates have risen rapidly due to higher fuel costs and limited capacity. Although we are seeing crude oil prices decline, refined products continue to be impacted by ongoing conflicts around the world.
The container transporter workers’ strike in India has ended.
We will continue to closely monitor market and logistical developments as conditions evolve.
