Rantec Guar Market Report

The guar gum market has experienced a significant increase of approximately $100–200/MT over the past two weeks. Higher fuel costs and continued dry weather are contributing factors.

Cumulative rainfall across Northwest India, the primary guar-growing region, has deteriorated further. Gujarat, which was 2% deficient two weeks ago, is now 13% deficient. Rajasthan has increased from 12% to 24% deficient, while Haryana has moved from 13% to 19% deficient. The forecast calls for predominantly dry conditions over the next seven days.

Guar planting is reported to be completed in Haryana and nearing completion in Rajasthan and Gujarat. As of August 25, sowing was reported at approximately 2.4 million hectares, compared with a total of 3 million hectares in 2025.

As reported in July, ocean freight rates have increased rapidly and significantly. Unfortunately, rates continue to rise, as shown in the attached chart, and are now approaching 2021 levels.

We will continue to monitor market developments closely as conditions evolve.
