Guar prices continue to trend higher as speculative activity takes advantage of dry conditions and lower sowing compared with last year.
Last week, Haryana and Gujarat received isolated rainfall. Over the next seven days, Eastern Rajasthan and Haryana may receive additional isolated rainfall, while the ever important Western Rajasthan region is expected to remain dry.
Guar planting is reported to be mostly complete. As of September 3, sowing was reported at approximately 2.43 million hectares, compared with a total of approximately 3 million hectares in 2025.
As previously reported, ocean carrier rates have risen rapidly due to higher fuel costs and limited capacity. In addition, a container transporter worker’s strike is currently limiting the movement of empty containers at India’s busiest port, Mundra. The following link provides additional details:

Rantec has so far been able to adjust operations and transport containers to the factory for stuffing and to the port for loading. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as conditions change.
